Hey, my love.
I don't really know where to begin, so I guess I'll start with the simplest thing I can say.
I'm glad I met you this semester.
It's funny how someone can enter your life so naturally, and then slowly become someone you look for in the smallest moments of your day. Someone you want to tell things to, even when those things aren't important.
I love the way we started as friends. I love the little conversations, the teasing, the shy moments, and all those times when neither of us knew what to say.
And somehow, somewhere along the way, you became someone I didn't want to lose.
I know I don't always express my feelings perfectly. Sometimes I overthink. Sometimes I struggle to find the right words. Sometimes I worry about whether I'm loving you the way you deserve to be loved.
But I want you to know that I'm not here because loving you is always easy. I'm here because you're someone I want to keep choosing, even when things aren't perfect.
I don't want us to be a relationship that only feels beautiful in the beginning. I want us to keep learning each other. I want us to laugh about stupid things, talk through misunderstandings, make memories, and grow into better versions of ourselves.
I can't promise that I'll never make mistakes. I can't promise that every day will feel like a romantic movie.
But I can promise to keep trying to understand you, to listen when you need me, and to remember that we're on the same side.
You're not just someone I love. You're someone I'm grateful I got to know.
And if I could go back to the beginning of this semester, knowing everything I know now, I think I'd still want to meet you.
I'd still want those conversations. I'd still want those little moments. And I'd still want the chance to call you mine.
Not because I know exactly what the future holds, but because I know I want to discover it with you.
I love you, MAMA.
More than I always know how to explain.
Yours, always trying,
your boy. ♡
